ZERO TORQUE FEATURE NOW EXISTS ON BEST OVERHEAD STIRRER
Caframo's high torque stirrer line continues to give scientists all! By May 28th, the BDC1850, BDC3030 and BDC6015 high torque stirrer line will be shipping with a new zero torque feature.
A zero torque button has been added in the redesign of the keypad membrane. When this button is pressed, the torque display changes to zero. When mixing begins, the operator will see changes in torque as viscosity changes. This feature allows the operator to zero the torque at any stage of mixing or zero out any additional overhead torque created by the mixing paddle and chuck before mixing starts - similar to a tare feature on a scale. After the torque is zeroed, only the effect of change in mixture viscosity will be reflected in the torque reading.
Torque (turning force) is a measure of the force on an object such as a shaft or a propeller. For example, pushing or pulling the handle of a wrench connected to a nut or bolt produces a torque (turning force) that loosens or tightens the nut or bolt. The units used to quantify torque are Newton Centimeters (N-cm) or foot pounds (ft-lbs).
